Scale of UK Vape Seizures Revealed
New data shown by Vape Superstore to Planet of the Vapes indicates the incredible volume of the black market for vapes in the United Kingdom. UK councils seized 1,318,389 illegal vapes, e-liquids and e-cigarettes in 2025, representing a fraction of products currently available and being sold by rogue traders.
IBVTA’s New Ukrainian Link
The Independent British Vape Trade Association (IBVTA) says it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the All-Ukrainian Association VARES. The UK trade body says this establishes a framework for professional cooperation and knowledge exchange between the industry associations in Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
Government Targets “Dodgy Vape Shops”
The UK Government has announced plans to conduct a nationwide crackdown on “dodgy vape shops, barbers and nail salons linked to organised crime”, pledging to put criminal bosses behind bars. It says that stores operating illegally will be forced to close under plans to introduce new legislation later this year. Ministers say the police and Trading Standards will be given stronger powers to shut down rogue businesses for longer while they undertake prosecutions to put the owners in jail.
