IBVTA welcomes £10m funding

As covered by Planet of the Vapes this week, the Government has announced a new £10 million boost for Trading Standards which is claimed will bolster operations in local communities for the next year, including funding an expected 80 more apprentice enforcement officers. The Independent British Vape Trade Association (IBVTA) says it “welcomes” the move.

The Coalition of Asia Pacific Tobacco Harm Reduction Advocates (CAPHRA) has endorsed compelling evidence presented by Asa Saligupta, Director of ENDs Cigarette Smoke Thailand, highlighting the life-saving potential of vaping as an alternative to deadly combustible cigarettes.

According to several headlines today, the UK government is on the verge of banning disposable e-cigarettes. It may even be thinking of banning some e-cigarette flavours. This is all just speculation for now. The only word from the government is that it will be launching a public consultation to ask what, if anything, it should do about an apparent rise in youth vaping.
