EU Choosing Ideology Over Science
International health experts say Europe’s lawmakers have prioritised politics over public health by voting against a report that would have formally recognised that different nicotine products carry different levels of health risk. Meanwhile, ECigIntelligence is warning that a ban on disposable vapes is set to roll out across more European countries.
Burnham Means Business
Claiming to be continuing his drive to build an economy that works for every postcode, the Prime Minister has announced action to cut business rates bills for pubs, social clubs and live music venues across England from April next year. Bizarrely, Andy Burnham appears to be blaming the decline of high streets across the country on vape shops of all things!
Prime Minister Demonising Vape Shops
Prime Minister has been accused by the UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) of demonising vape shops while handing tax break to alcohol venues. UKVIA warns business rates crackdown could drive responsible retailers out of business and undermine efforts to help smokers quit.
