Peter Gibson Worries About Crime
Peter Gibson, the Conservative MP for Darlington, has posed a series of questions to the Department for Health and Social Care and the Home Office about vaping and criminal activity. His focus is on how the Government is dealing with the sale of illegal vapes now – something that is set to boom when disposable vapes are banned.
The Tobacco and Vapes Bill
The Government introduced the Tobacco and Vapes Bill to Parliament on Wednesday 20 March. Powers being granted include those to issue £100 on-the-spot fines in addition to the maximum £2,500 fine which local authorities can impose on retailers. Some outlets reported the £100 fine was for children vaping, but this is not the case. The Independent British Vape Trade Association (IBVTA) has offered its opinion on the new legislation.
Imperial Tobacco responds to Minister Holland’s nicotine pouch remarks

In Ottawa, Imperial Tobacco Canada’s Eric Gagnon responds to comments made earlier in the day by Health Minister Mark Holland that the tobacco industry leveraged a loophole for the licensing of smoking cessation products. Imperial Tobacco’s Zonnic is the first and only nicotine pouch approved by Health Canada as a nicotine replacement therapy.
