Influencer Shames Co-op
An “influencer” on LinkedIn has shamed the Co-op supermarket chain into hiding vapes away from smokers who might otherwise have taken the opportunity to quit tobacco. Simon Squibb has termed the point-of-sale promotion “a disgrace”, and the Co-op has shamefully backed down rather than stand up for tobacco harm reduction and promoting vapes to adult smokers.
EU Tax Plan Reversed
According to a leaked draft of the European Council’s updated Tobacco Excise Directive, seen by Planet of the Vapes, the planned new European taxes for vapes and heated tobacco products from 2030 looks set to be considerably lower than proposed. This is set to come about due to a compromise brokered by Cyprus.
