The FDA should consider the bigger picture of youth nicotine use as it sorts out ongoing enforcement efforts against e-cigarettes and other tobacco products, industry groups and a public health analyst say.
The latest National Youth Tobacco Survey found that 2.5 million, or 9.4%, of US middle and high school students reported using e-cigarettes. Just over 14% of high schoolers reported using e-cigarettes in the last month, an increase from 13.4% last year.

Legalizing vape sales in Malaysia remains on the table despite the heath minister postponing the “generational endgame” anti-smoking bill after considerable public and political pressure, according to the Malaysian Organization of Vape Entities (MOVE).
Malaysia’s Minister of Health, Khairy Jamaluddin, made the decision not to table the bill despite the bipartisan special parliamentary select committee making amendments and reaching consensus.

This week, the Dutch research and data agency “Integral Kankercentrum Nederland” (IKNL) published an alarming cancer rate prediction. At the same time, the Government is about to push many vapers back to smoking by banning flavours. Vaping is proven to lower cancer rates when compared to smoking, yet the Government is intent on pursuing this policy despite the warning from the IKNL, says the World Vapers’ Alliance.
