VAPRIL hit by CAP Crackdown
VAPRIL is in full swing, but the event is muted compared to previous years due to a Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) prohibition on vape related social media posts. The UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA), has promoted its annual #VApril Vaping Awareness Month on social media for six years, to give smokers factual, evidence-based advice on switching from smoking to vaping.
UKVIA Writes to Sunak
The UK Vaping Industry Association (UKVIA) has written to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak asking him to #PauseTheVapeBill amid serious concerns at its potentially disastrous health implications for vapers and smokers. The organisation represents the interests of its members in the vape industry and holds serious concerns about the Conservative’s illiberal Bill.
Scotland Confirms Ban Details
The Scottish Government has published a six-week consultation on the implementation of the disposable vapes ban, expanding on the definition of a disposable vape and outlining the fines that will be issued to businesses who continue to sell and supply disposables after a ban. The Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) is not impressed.
